The 19th Amendment

On Aug 26, 1920 the 19th Amendment was adopted in the USA Constitution extending to women the right to vote. It was the culmination of more than 70 years of struggle by women suffragists.

This Chinese Tea House built in the gardens of Marble House in Newport, Rhode Island, owned by Alva Vanderbilt was a site of rallies for women’s right to vote.
