The north of Scotland is less mountainous. I saw many sheep and cows but not so many people.

River Dee
Travelling in the Highlands you understand how they have a very low population density. As a matter of fact most people (70%) live in the Lowlands in the area between the major cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow.
