State Opening of Parliament- 2016

 

Today The Queen officially opened Parliament

The State Opening of Parliament occurs at the beginning of each Parliamentary year and is the only regular event to unite the three elements of legislature – the House of Lords, the House of Commons and The Queen.


The Queen is wearing the beautiful King George IV State Diadem.
