Madeleine Lebeau, the last surviving castmember from Casablanca, who escaped from the Nazis in real life, shouts out “Vive la France!”, one of the best scenes in the film. She died on May 1 in Spain.
Madeleine Lebeau and her husband, Marcel Dalio (he played the croupier Emil), who was jewish, received transit visas from Aristides de Sousa Mendes, the Portuguese Consul in Bordeaux, allowing them to enter Portugal.
E um dos grandes momentos altos do filme!
