“Necessity is the mother of invention”
Thousands of American cars were brought into Cuba until the United States government declared a trade embargo, which has lasted for more than 50 years, and as a consequence has stopped all imports. From that time on, Cubans found ways to keep their American cars in operation, making parts or adapting them from Russian cars.
If you love old cars, you have to go to Cuba. They are what visitors love most. However if you are a collector don´t even think of buying one: they are part of the national heritage, inherited from generation to generation.
